A tela bag, also known on the market as a nonwoven bag, is a carrier bag sewn from light, non-woven fabric. From pharmacies to trade shows, from schools to stores, it replaces the plastic bag in many places; the logo on it travels around with the bag. In our workshop in Konya Karatay we have been making tela bags without intermediaries since 2013.

This category has a wide range of models: plain models, gusseted ones, drawstring ones, long-handled ones and sector-specific examples sit side by side. What Is a Tela Bag and What Fabric Is It Made From?

Tela is a non-woven fabric obtained by bonding fibres together instead of weaving; in the industry it is known as nonwoven. A tela bag and a nonwoven bag are really two names for the same product family. The fabric is light, comes in a wide range of colours and produces a bag that is reusable and recyclable.

The fabric weight is chosen according to the bag's job. A distribution bag that will carry a few light products and a bag that will carry books or folders do not need the same thickness. Tell us what you will carry and we will settle the weight and stitching structure together.

Tela Bag or Cotton Tote Bag?

Both are carrier bags with your logo, but their logic of use differs. A cotton tote bag is made of woven cotton fabric, is washed and stays in hand for years; it stands out for jobs where it is expected to be kept or given as a gift. A tela bag is lighter and suits jobs to be distributed in large numbers at once: a trade show entrance, a campaign, an opening, a store till.

The joining method is also a distinguishing point. Tela bags are generally joined by stitching; models joined without stitching, by ultrasonic welding, sit in a separate category. If you are not sure which suits you, write the place of use and the quantity and we will suggest options side by side.

Flat, Gusseted or Drawstring: Which Model?

The flat model is enough for documents, brochures and thin products. When gussets are added to the sides, the bag's carrying volume increases; the wider the gusset, the more bulky a product fits inside. If boxes, packages or more than one product will be carried, a gusseted model works far more comfortably.

Drawstring models close with a cord and are used like a pouch; they are useful for distributing small gifts and samples. Long-handled models can be hung on the shoulder. Print Options on a Tela Bag

On tela bag models we do the printing by offset printing. Our product list includes one-colour and four-colour jobs, and one-sided and two-sided prints. As the number of colours and sides increases, the preparation of the job changes too; that is why we first want to see your logo and then make the print plan together.

If you send your logo as a vector file, preparation becomes easier. We submit a draft showing how the design will sit on the bag for your approval, and after approval we move to production. For designs with photographs or very fine detail, it is always good to discuss the result beforehand.

Who Uses Tela Bags?

Pharmacies and healthcare organisations choose tela bags for handing over products, opticians and jewellers for the small items they give customers, and schools and courses for the enrolment period. At seminars, congresses, concerts and openings, because the bag is the first item given to a participant, the logo is visible from the very first moment.

In retail too, the bag is given at the till instead of a plastic bag. The same bag is not the same size everywhere: an event bag is usually wide and gusseted, while a pharmacy bag is smaller and plainer. How Is Size Determined in a Wholesale Purchase?

When determining the size, take the largest product that will go in the bag as the basis. Alongside width and height, the gusset allowance and handle length are also taken into account; the length changes depending on whether the handle will be carried by hand or on the shoulder. If you have a sample product, just share its measurements and we will plan the bag accordingly.

In a wholesale order the real work is making several decisions together on the same bag: fabric colour, print colour, handle and gusset. If the fabric and print colours are close to each other, the logo is hard to read, so colour harmony needs to be considered from the start. If you want more than one size for different product groups, we can combine them in a single quote.

How Is the Price Determined and How Does the Order Proceed?

We have no fixed tela bag price list; every job is determined by quote. The items that most affect the price are quantity, the bag's size and fabric weight, gusset and handle preference, the number of print colours and whether the print is one- or two-sided. The unit cost of the same model at different quantities is not the same either.

You can fill in the Get a Quote form, or write by phone or on WhatsApp. After design approval we move to production, check the bags and send them to your address by tracked courier or freight; an invoice is issued for corporate orders. If the delivery date depends on an event, mention it from the start and we will plan accordingly.
