The packaging a supermarket uses most is the carrier bag: every customer leaving the till goes with a bag, and the bag often ends up in the bin at home. The cotton grocery bag changes this flow. Because the customer brings the bag back to every shop, your supermarket's name is seen in the neighbourhood, at the bazaar and on the neighbours' doorsteps several times a week. A bag given at the till thus becomes the supermarket's own carrying advertisement.
In our workshop in Konya Karatay we produce cotton bags for supermarket businesses in the size, colour and print you want. Needs differ from the neighbourhood corner shop to large supermarkets; below we explain size, handle, print and ordering from a supermarket's point of view. If you have a specific question, just write to us by phone or on WhatsApp and we will determine the right model together.
Why Are Supermarkets Turning to Cotton Bags?
As reducing carrier bag use is on the agenda, customers have become more open to bringing a bag to the till or buying a cotton bag. When a supermarket meets this demand, it can reduce its bag expense and show its customers a sustainable approach. The bag also carries the supermarket's name beyond the neighbourhood limits.
Its advertising value lies in the bag being picked up again at every till. When the same customer takes the bag to the bazaar, to a neighbour or to work, your logo is seen by new people. So the cotton grocery bag is thought of less as a one-off packaging and more as a lasting promotional tool.
Grocery Bag Sizes: 25x35, 30x40, 40x45
The most preferred size for grocery bags is 25x35. Those who want a larger interior volume choose 30x40 or 40x45. All three sizes correspond to different scales of everyday grocery shopping: the small size works for quick drop-in shops, the large size for weekly and bulk shopping.
When deciding the size, you need to think about your customer's basket. For light products such as bread, vegetables and milk, the small size is better; for canned goods, drinks and cleaning products, the large size is more suitable. If you want a custom size beyond these, production is possible; just tell us your size.
Sold at the Till or Given as a Gift?
You can use the grocery bag in two ways. The first is to offer it at the till, paid or free: the customer keeps the bag with them while shopping and carries your supermarket's logo on every visit. The second is to give it as a gift for purchases above a certain amount.
The bag is planned differently for each: a bag offered at the till should be sturdier and plainer, while a bag handed out as a gift can be prepared with a campaign-focused design. That is why cotton bags are often chosen for opening events and customer loyalty campaigns.
What Is Printed on a Grocery Bag?
The supermarket's name, logo and slogan are printed on the front of the bag. For a one- or two-colour logo, screen printing is both sharp and economical; since grocery bags are usually ordered in large quantities, this method stands out. For multicolour designs or images containing photographs, we use digital printing.
A phone number, a neighbourhood name or a campaign message can also be added to the bag; but the less text there is, the more legible it is. When you send the vector file of your logo, we prepare the print solution and move on to production after getting your approval.
Handle and Stitch Strength
Since a grocery bag carries heavy items such as canned goods, drinks and vegetables, handle attachment and stitch strength are the real test of the bag. Fabric thickness and handle structure are determined by the load the bag will carry.
Handle length matters too: a short handle for carrying by hand, a long handle that can be hung over the shoulder spreads the load better. If you tell us which products your supermarket mainly sells, we will recommend suitable fabric and handle construction; with heavy loads, sturdiness should come before looks.
Wholesale Grocery Bag Orders and Pricing
For cotton grocery bags, the price is determined by order quantity, size, fabric and number of print colours; so we have no fixed price list and prepare a quote for each supermarket. In the same size, a different fabric or a different number of colours appears as separate line items in the quote.
For a quote, just send the size, approximate quantity and your logo. After design approval the bags are produced, checked and delivered to your supermarket by tracked courier or freight. We issue a corporate invoice. If you have an opening or campaign date, telling us at the start makes planning easier.
Frequently asked questions
The most preferred size is 25x35; 30x40 and 40x45 are also produced. The small size suits light products, and the large size suits heavy and bulky shopping. If you want a custom size beyond these, just let us know; we assess whether production is possible and inform you.
The logo is applied to the front of the bag by screen printing or digital printing. We recommend screen printing for one- or two-colour logos and digital printing for multicolour and photographic designs. Information such as the supermarket's name, logo, slogan and phone number can be printed. Sending your logo as a vector file speeds up print preparation.
Yes, because a cotton grocery bag can be cleaned and reused, it can take the place of a single-use carrier bag. When the customer brings the bag to every shop, the need for carrier bags falls. For durability, it is important to choose fabric and handle suited to the load the bag will carry; if you tell us your product range, we will recommend a suitable construction.
The price varies with order quantity, bag size, fabric and number of print colours. Instead of a fixed price list, we prepare a quote specific to your supermarket. Sending the size and approximate quantity through the Get a Quote form, by phone or on WhatsApp is enough for us to prepare our quote.
