Printed Cotton Tote Bags: Choosing a Logo Bag and Ordering Steps

Printed Cotton Tote Bags: Choosing a Logo Bag and Ordering Steps
Short answer

A printed cotton tote bag is a logo bag whose fabric, size and print are chosen together. The decision order is as follows: first the bag model and size, then the logo's number of colours and print sides, and finally quantity and schedule. On our product pages, single-colour and two-sided printed models appear most often. Karaca Çanta does the printing in its Konya Karatay workshop; the method is decided together according to your logo and quantity.

When ordering a printed cotton tote bag, everyone thinks about the logo, but what decides how the bag will look is the balance the logo and the bag strike together: the size of the surface, the colour of the fabric, and how many colours and how many sides the print has.

This guide is not about printing techniques; it explains how to choose and order a printed product. You will find the print distribution in our catalogue, logo placement, the colour and side decision, and the steps of an order from logo to approval; for a comparison of methods, see our printing methods guide.

How Do You Order a Printed Cotton Tote Bag?

A printed cotton tote bag order is a combination of three decisions: the bag itself (fabric, size, handle), the structure of the print (number of colours and sides) and the order plan (quantity and date). When you put these in writing and send them via the Get a Quote form, by phone or on WhatsApp, the workshop prepares a quote for you; your logo is made print-ready and submitted for your approval, and production and printing take place after approval.

When ordering, you can choose a model from the product pages or ask for custom production in your own size. The print information of a catalogue model is written in its title; the colour and sides of the print to be applied with your logo are settled in the quote. You do not have to choose the printing method; we decide together once we see your logo and quantity.

How Are Printed Models Distributed in the Catalogue?

The titles of the printed models on our product pages state the print colour and sides. Putting this information together gives a table: single-colour and two-sided printed models are the most common. The table is not a recommendation, it only shows the distribution in the catalogue; the right choice for your logo depends on the structure of the design and the quantity.

One striking point in the table is that the distribution by sides is sharper than the distribution by colours: two-sided printed models are well ahead. One reason may be that both faces of the bag are seen by the person carrying it or by those around them; however, this is only a guess and should not steer your decision. The catalogue figures only reflect the information on the product pages.

Print Features on the Product Pages
Print FeatureNumber of ProductsWhat Does It Mean?
Single colour86The most common choice for simple logos
Two colours30When the logo has two separate colours
Three colours7Three-colour designs; rarely seen in the catalogue
Four colours16For four-colour designs
Both sides98Logo or text on both faces of the bag
One side9Print on one face only

Where on the Bag and at What Size Should the Logo Go?

The position and size of the logo on the bag should not be considered separately from the size of the bag and how it will be carried. A small logo gets lost on a wide, horizontal bag, while an enlarged logo looks cramped on a tall, narrow one. When the bag is full the fabric stretches and the look of the print changes; so the logo should be positioned with a full bag in mind, not an empty one.

A logo placed near the handle or gusset has a narrower print surface; for a centred logo, it is important to leave an area that is not covered by the carrier's hand or arm. We check the placement together at design approval. If you have no idea about placement, just tell us how the bag will be carried, because carrying it in the hand or on the shoulder changes the surface from which the logo will be seen. For a detailed explanation, see the logo placement article on our blog.

One-Sided or Two-Sided, and How Many Colours?

The decision on sides and colours changes both visibility and the quote. One-sided printing is simpler and involves less work; with two-sided printing the logo is visible on both faces of the bag, so the brand stays visible whichever way the carrier is facing. As the number of colours increases, so does the printing work, so it makes sense to ask whether a simpler version of your logo exists. The following questions can guide your decision:

  • From which direction will the bag be seen; will the carrier show only one face?
  • Is the logo still recognisable when reduced to a single colour?
  • Is there enough contrast between the background colour and the logo colour?
  • Is two-sided printing worth it for the budget and the goal?
  • Will all bags have the same print, or will the colour change between variants?

How Does the Fabric Affect the Look of the Print?

The same logo looks different on different fabrics. Because raw cotton is a natural, cream-toned cotton weave, light-coloured logos can look faded on this background; dark, contrasting colours are more legible. On coloured fabric, you need to think about the contrast between the bag's colour and the logo's colour from the start.

On nonwoven bags, the printing method is given as offset printing on our product pages; ultrasonic bags, meanwhile, are made from the same nonwoven fabric. You can see the method on the product page, and if you have a different method in mind, you can ask at the quote stage. To make your colour expectation clear, it helps to give the shade you want as a code or sample. Also bear in mind that the colour you see on screen may not come out exactly the same on fabric; for this reason, expectations about colour need to be discussed openly at the approval stage.

How Should You Describe Your Logo in a Quote Request?

When asking for a quote, describing the logo in words as well speeds up the workshop's preparation of the right method and the right price. The file and the written information complement each other: the file shows the image, the text shows your intent. The table gives examples of how each piece of information can be written and why it matters; the sample wordings are only meant to give you an idea.

Some of the information may not be settled on your side yet; write that down too. Even a sentence like "We haven't decided on the number of colours yet, our logo has three colours" is enough for the workshop to suggest a simpler version and weigh the options with you. A request sent with incomplete information moves ahead much faster than one that gives no information at all, because the questions to be asked become visible from the start.

What Should You Check at the Approval Stage of a Printed Bag?

On a printed product, the most valuable step is design approval: the position, size, colour and spelling accuracy of the print are checked at this stage. Because production starts after approval, the draft needs to be examined carefully; in organisations with many people, collecting approval through a single person prevents confusion. The following are the main points to review before approving:

  • Spelling of the brand name, phone number and address
  • Position and proportions of the logo on the bag
  • Print colours and how many colours will be printed
  • Print sides: one face or two
  • The space around the logo and its distance from the edges

Frequently asked questions

First decide on the bag's fabric, size and handle, then on the logo's number of colours and print sides; add the quantity and date and send them via the Get a Quote form, by phone or on WhatsApp. After the quote, your logo is submitted to you as a design for approval, and production and printing take place after approval.
